Nice job on the video. Thank you so much for posting it.
Very soon, the USFS and BLM intend to close roads to places you’ve just shown. The road to Cinnabar is already considered closed by the USFS and they intend to obliterate it.
USFS actions are illegal, documents were falsified by them to get what they want, and they are going against 98% of the American public, closing roads near Yellow Pine just to spite the public.
They have unlawfully burned cabins in Cinnabar and other places which were on PRIVATE LAND. I have documented these and other crimes online here: http://usfspayettenationalforest.blogspot.com
It’s time to tell the USFS, BLM that it is our land, not their land. And we want them to let us have OUR roads!
great post, thanks for sharing
Thanks for your post Scott. I will add your link to my website. Places like Cinnabar need to be preserved and the public should have access to their land!
I went into Cinnabar yesterday (9/6/2012) and the road wasn’t bad but it is for ATV’s or jeeps. All the building are still there and is a true ghost town. I talked with a guy that works for the mine in Stibnite and he said that it probably won’t be there for much longer. He said that the company that owns the mine in Stibnite has now bought that property and they intend to start mining in there again and plan on leveling this wonderful old town. As you said, there are no road signs so when going in towards Stibnite turn off to the left before the first of the two bridges that go up the hill into Stibnite. There is a large map of the mining area of places you can and can’t go at the intersection where you need to turn left and right before the first bridge. Great video you have here plus I took several pictures if anyone is interested.
Hi Darrel,
Thanks for the update. Sorry to hear they are going to tear this place down, I better plan another trip up there before this happens. I started a forum with a ghost town section, If you want to share any photos or anything else.
